Terms and Conditions of Entry

Arrival Protocol

Slow Beauty requires clients to arrive promptly for their service. Clients will be taken in  5 minutes before the start of an appointment to ensure your entire treatment time is taken advantage of, and to ensure we run to time so as not to inconvenience other guests. If you are delayed in your arrival, please remember that your service will end at its original time.

COVID-19 Screening

COVID-19 is a highly contagious virus that spreads from person to person. In addition to long-held and explicit sanitation measures, this business has always adhered to, new preventative measures have been put in place to further reduce the spread of this novel coronavirus. However, these best practices still offer no guarantee regarding your potential risk of being infected.

To minimise the introduction of COVID-19 into Slow Beauty Eco Salon, I have introduced a Client Screening Process. Keeping my clients and myself safe is my top priority, and the COVID-19 Screening form is designed to assist me in assessing the number and type of risk factors for COVID-19 that may be present in any in-person interaction.

Information used in this form comes from many sources and, given the constantly emerging knowledge base regarding COVID-19, will be revised and updated as new information and recommendations become available. Everyone entering the building is required to answer the screening questions. It will be emailed 96 hours (4 days) prior to your appointment. Complete and return the form as soon as possible so that your appointment can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours notice in order to avoid late-cancellation penalties, should this be necessary due to the rapidly changing circumstances associated with COVID-19. If you require assistance in completing your form, call 6156 4746.

Physical Distancing

Physical distancing of at least a 1.5-metre distance between people will be maintained wherever possible.

The number of guests on-premises will be limited to one (1) at any time unless a carer or interpreter is required, so please do not bring family members or others to your appointment. Children are not permitted in the salon unless they have an appointment and are accompanied by an adult. We request clients leave the studio promptly after the service has been provided.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Anyone working in or visiting Slow Beauty Eco Salon is required to wear a P2/ K95/ KN95 particulate filter respirator. You must bring your own. If you do not have an appropriate mask, I can provide one for you for $4. Once that mask is on, please keep it over your nose and don’t pull it away to talk.

Manufactured non-medical grade face coverings including homemade (sewn) coverings (those coverings not regulated by TGA) and non-manufactured non-medical grade face coverings (Handkerchief, scarf, bandana) provide limited to no evidence for protection. Particulate filter respirators (P2 or equivalent – N95, KN95) are required.

Hygiene

Maintaining good hygiene can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ensure you follow good hygiene practices, including:

    • washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using alcohol-based hand sanitisers.
    • coughing and sneezing into a tissue or coughing into your elbow or shoulder.
    • immediately disposing of tissues into a waste bin, then washing hands.
    • avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

You are required to wash your hands or apply an alcohol-based sanitiser on entering. Hand sanitiser will be provided to you. Hand-rub for 20 seconds with the sanitiser as if you are washing your hands. Instructions are displayed for your reference.

Products and Services

Online Booking / Credit Card Authorisation

All reservations are made online without exception.

Slow Beauty’s calendar is open two months in advance. To avoid disappointment and secure preferred reservation times, we ask that reservations be scheduled in advance. We will always be accommodating to a busy schedule and preferred time, however, in instances where we may not be able to immediately accommodate the request, we have a Waiting List which is referred to daily when instances of cancellations or availabilities occur.

Reservations are secured with a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit equal to 50% of the service fee, and a credit card held on file. The deposit will be deducted from the treatment cost per visit. Deposits are taken at the time of booking. 

Cancellations

Reservations can only be cancelled or rescheduled online via Online Booking. To manage your reservation, click the button “Manage this Reservation” in the Reservation Request, Confirmation or Reminder emails, or simply log in to your account via the Slow Beauty website.

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling. In the event that 48 hours isn’t provided, the deposit will be retained as payment for the reservation. Should another reservation be scheduled, a further deposit will be required. Clients who fail to provide 24 hour notice of cancellation will be charged for the full amount of their appointment. Future appointments will have to be prepaid. 

Where a reservation is cancelled with more than 48 hours notice, the deposit will be held as a credit on your account and can be used for future reservations, product or gift card purchases.

If no notice was provided for non-attendance, the client is liable for the full-service fee. This fee will be charged to the card held on file and must be paid prior to receiving another reservation. All future reservations must be prepaid.

In the event a client has incurred two (2) documented “no-shows” and/or “same-day cancellations”, a block will be placed on their account and future appointments will be cancelled.

If payment was made with a gift card and a cancellation fee applies as noted above, the value of the cancellation fee will be deducted from the gift card.

Repeat cancellations will lead to forfeiture of the ability to schedule again.

Cancellations cannot be made by calling, texting, emailing or messaging via social media channels. To manage your reservation, click the button “Manage this Reservation” in the Reservation Request, Confirmation or Reminder emails, or simply log in to your account via the Slow Beauty website.

Change of Mind

We will not issue price adjustments/ refunds for change of mind. The client is liable for the full amount of time scheduled, even if the client requests a reduced or changed service.

Moving Reservations

Once your reservation has been made you can move the date and time on ONE occasion, more than 48 hours before the reservation time. After you have moved your reservation once, you will not be able to move the deposit over again to a new slot. The deposit will be retained and a brand new slot must be scheduled.

Late Arrival

Please understand that arriving late may limit the time available for your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your timely arrival is appreciated. Clients who do not arrive within 5 minutes of their scheduled appointment time may be asked to reschedule and will be charged the full amount of the scheduled reservation.

Slow Beauty does not extend service times or issue refunds/ price adjustments for late arrival. Failure to arrive 5 minutes early will require us to alter the service, with full charges applied so as not to inconvenience other guests.

Courtesy Reminders

You will receive an email and SMS reminder 72 hours prior to your reservation. Confirm with us at least two days before your reservation to ensure your time is held. Reservations that remain unconfirmed will be cancelled, the deposit will be forfeited and the time will be released to our Waiting List.

Illness or suspected illness

If you are unwell, we ask that you call as soon as you are able to reschedule your reservation. If it is outside of the 48-hour cancellation window, please reschedule your reservation online. If you are unable to provide adequate notice, regrettably your deposit will be forfeited. If you attend an appointment while you are unwell, you will be refused service and you will be liable for 100% of your scheduled reservation fee.

Mobile Phones

To ensure your comfort, all phones must be silenced or turned off while in the treatment studio. If you need to make a phone call, please do so after your appointment. I am on a tight schedule and I appreciate your compliance. 

Mobile phones are only permitted to be used during checkout. Phone conversations or texting during service compromises the hygienic integrity of the treatment area and the ability to adhere to reservation schedules. During services, we require your full, undivided attention. Plan to be an active participant for the duration of your service.

Right to Refuse Service

We retain the right to refuse service at any time for any reason, including but not limited to frequent cancellations, lateness, failure to comply with the policies included in this document, improper behaviour, intoxication, or if their state of health may influence the effects of the service or service technician.

Parking

Feel free to park in the driveway if it is available. Parking is also available on the street. Do not park opposite any other parked vehicles, as this compromises access for residents and emergency vehicles.

What to wear

A salon appointment is about your enjoyment. Wear something you are comfortable in. For spray tans loose, dark clothing is recommended, with slip-on shoes and ideally no bra. If you are planning on wearing your underwear during your service, be sure to wear a g-string, otherwise, a re-usable g-string and bandeau bra will be provided for you. Feel free to wear it home and wash it, and wear it again for your next tan.

Limit personal belongings to essential items only, and place them only in the storage box provided on arrival. When your service is complete, you may take your belongings with you and leave the box in the studio for sanitation and disinfection.

Payment Terms and Conditions

Prices and Payment

We only accept cashless transactions. We request prepayment to ensure your appointment remains COVID-Safe and as efficient as possible. Contactless payment is available in the salon.

Osko with PayID (connect@slowbeauty.com.au), Apple Pay, Google Pay, EFTPOS, VISA, MasterCard and American Express are accepted for payment. Card transactions are subject to a 2% surcharge. If you hold a Gift Card please quote your Gift Card number when scheduling your reservation. 

Prices and services are subject to change without notice.

We reserve the right to charge interest on any unpaid accounts and take legal action or procure the services of a debt collector. The debtor will be liable for all associated debt-recovery and/or legal costs.

Gift Cards

If you received a card for treatment but you’d rather have something else, you can purchase any product to the value of the gift card. Gift Cards expire after three (3) years from the date of purchase unless stated on the voucher eg. promotional gift cards have an expiry if they were free with a purchase or gifted in support of a local charity. Gift cards are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full. Gift cards are redeemable at monetary value at the time of purchase and should only be purchased directly from Slow Beauty Eco Salon. Cards purchased through other suppliers will not be honoured. Gift cards are non-transferable and not redeemable to purchase other gift cards.

Prepaid Series

Package validity periods are advised in each description and will automatically expire after the advised number of days. Packages are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

When you prepay a series of treatments, they’re to be performed in a certain time frame, specific to each series and stated at the time of sale.  This ensures you get the results promised.

If you need to cancel a treatment that was part of a prepaid series, the same rules apply as any other treatment: 48 hours notice, or you forfeit your deposit.  As there is no deposit paid in this case, one reservation from your series is forfeited.

Packages are priced at a discount on the individual treatment price. In the event that a course is cancelled for any reason before it has been completed, and a refund is requested on the balance of any remaining treatments, this will be calculated by adding the combined value of any completed treatments at their individual full-price and subtracting this from the total paid for the course. The difference will be the amount refunded. Packaged treatments are not refundable and not able to be swapped out for other treatments.  If you want to have something different on the day, that’s usually fine, but you will need to pay for it separately. 

Mandatory Consumer Guarantees and Refund Policy

Consumer Guarantee

Your satisfaction is our highest priority. We are committed to providing our clients with professional service in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. With due care and skill, using the finest products available we provide thorough post-care advice and education on how to maintain the results of your treatment at home.  How you take care of your skin is important and how you care for your skin in the time between treatments will determine the outcome of your in-salon treatments. We cannot guarantee results if you choose not to follow the recommended pre and post-treatment advice or use unsuitable skincare products. If for whatever reason you are unhappy with the results of your treatment, let us know during your treatment, or within 24 hours after your service has been performed and we will rectify at no extra charge at a time suitable for us both as close to the original appointment as possible.

Repairs and refunds

Slow Beauty Eco Salon does not offer refunds for change of mind, so choose carefully.  Where a refund or replacement is required under the Australian Consumer Law, we will work with you to ensure you are provided with the necessary reasonable remedy specific to your circumstances. Slow Beauty Eco Salon’s goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.  

You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

You are not entitled to a refund for change of mind or change of purpose for which you bought the product or service, including for pre-pays, where there is no product or service failure. You are also not entitled to a refund where you found the product or service cheaper somewhere else, decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it.

Dispute Resolution

Failure To Pay

Payment is due on completion of service. Failure to pay is a serious offence and unpaid debts will be passed along to a debt collection agency. The client will be responsible for any additional costs associated with debt recovery. Theft of service or product will be reported to the Police.

Liability Disclaimers and Liability Limitations

Children

Children are not permitted in the salon unless they have an appointment and are accompanied by an adult. Written consent is required from a parent or legal guardian for services on any child under 18 years of age.  Parents of minors are required to attend and must remain in the studio for the duration of the service.

Scope of Practice

In the ACT, legislation prohibits salon and spa professionals from diagnosing or treating clients with contraindicated medical conditions. Should we determine that you are ineligible for service, we will happily refer you to an appropriate physician. When your condition has been resolved, or you have a medical release clearing you for service, you are more than welcome to reschedule your appointment.

Client Agreement Terms and Conditions

Informed Consent

Before your reservation, we will email you a consultation form. For insurance and health department compliance, we can’t treat you until you have completed it.

Duty to Inform

For your comfort and safety, please notify us if you have any skin conditions or allergies, any physical issues or disabilities, if you are pregnant or if you are receiving medical care from a doctor or health practitioner. If you are in doubt about your medical circumstances, you should seek advice prior to accessing our services. If you experience discomfort or any other symptoms during the treatment, please alert your service provider immediately. Whilst we will take all due care in performing services, we are not liable for any side effects which occur as a result of the client’s own negligence.

E-Commerce Sales Terms and Conditions

Delivery

Shipping within Australia is free for orders over $200. Orders under $200 incur a $10 flat-rate shipping fee. All orders are processed and sent as soon as possible as we know how important it is to receive your purchase promptly.

Refund and Exchange Policy

Slow Beauty Eco Salon does not offer refunds for change of mind, so please choose carefully.  Where a refund or replacement is required under the Australian Consumer Law, we will work with you to ensure you are provided with the necessary reasonable remedy specific to your circumstances within 30 days of your date of purchase. Slow Beauty Eco Salon’s goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods.

You are not entitled to a refund for change of mind or change of purpose for which you bought the product where there is no product failure. You are also not entitled to a refund where you found the product cheaper somewhere else, decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it.

Refunds are processed immediately and typically take seven business days to complete and post to your statement.  

Contact-free Collection

If you’ve purchased a special order item, or your product is not in stock, you will be notified via WhatsApp or email (if you have elected not to receive communications from us via WhatsApp) of its arrival. You will be asked to schedule a 10-minute Contact-free Collection slot, or if there are no times available that are suitable for you, you will be asked to let us know when you will be collecting your order and we will make sure it is waiting for you. Slow Beauty will not be held liable for any orders which are left unattended on our premises outside of the arranged 10-minute collection period.

COVID-19 UPDATE

I am committed to providing a safe environment for both my clients
and myself.

It is for this reason that I am only accepting clients who have had all available COVID-19 Vaccinations at this time. Proof of vaccination status is required on arrival. Those who refuse will be turned away.

All customers and staff are required to wear P2 (or equivalent) face masks at all times. Refusal to cooperate will result in immediate dismissal.

Clients will not be permitted into the salon until 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment time. No guests or children will be allowed inside.

Every person seeking to enter the salon will be subject to a temperature scan upon arrival and will be required to sanitise their hands. Those who refuse will be turned away.
