Natural Beauty Salon
Ethical Beauty Therapy
Born in Canberra, Natalie has lived here all her life. She studied Early Childhood Education for many years but has always had a keen interest in all things beauty. She first studied Beauty Therapy in 2011, graduating with a Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy, and again in 2015, graduating with a Diploma of Beauty Therapy. She also holds a current First Aid certificate. Natalie is a single mum whose parenting and health journeys have led her to slow. An autoimmune diagnosis led to a more considered approach to self-care.
I work with women who are committed to looking and feeling their best in the most natural way possible. It’s about permission. It’s about valuing yourself and giving yourself the kind of loving care that you’d give to a child or partner. I help women embrace their natural beauty from the inside out through skincare advice and results-driven organic treatments with a focus on self-care and environmental sustainability. It’s slow beauty, a chance to reconnect.
Slow Beauty Eco Salon is a boutique salon in Natalie’s home in O’Connor. Initially started to help Natalie perfect the skills she had gained in her studies, Slow Beauty Eco Salon (formerly Beauty By Natalie) has evolved over time, guided by Natalie’s passion for “Best Practice” offerings, something she has taken from her previous career in Early Childhood Education. Having spent time working in privately-owned salons, Natalie was disheartened to discover all wasn’t as it appeared. She felt that she was unable to provide the standard of service she felt her clients deserved within the constraints of someone else’s business. Attaining a Diploma of New Small Business in 2017, she launched Slow Beauty Eco Salon with a focus on authenticity and transparency.
I invite you to indulge in one (or many!) of my treatments and take some time to care for yourself, leaving all the hard work in my hands – Natalie McBurney
